Where in the DFW is this place? - 01-31-2008, 12:25 AM

WFAA in Dallas has used the image below in their promotional news videos for a few years now. I have been trying to find the location ever since I saw it the first time. I know my TPF friends can help me find it. Yeah I know this is a horrible screen grab but I don't have all the fancy TV connection to my computer that a lot of you have.

So does anyone know this location?

Possibly a shot looking out from the plaza of their new location.

No, I don't think that is taken from around Victory Plaza. It looks much different than that.

Is it a Dart Rail Station stop in downtown? I don't know.

This clip was used a few years before Victory Plaza was finished. I have been all around Victory Plaza and did not see it.

The video clip is so fleeting it is hard to recognize any details in the background. I don't see any large buildings in the background. It has me baffled.

Does anybody know someone at WFAA that I could email?

Isn't that the sculpture accross the street from WFAA's "old" building on Young St., near the Belo Building? I believe if you stand on S Record St. With the train station and fountain at your back, the sculpture and Belo building should be right in front of you.

Why not call WFAA and ask them? Or even ask in an e-mail to them?

Thank you Wayne. I knew someone would know. Wayne not only did you tell us where it is but you supplied a picture. All done within 35 hours of posting. Don't you love TPF.

It sure looks bigger on TV. But I still think it can be used. Just need the right angle.

Thanks to all who helped.
