Want to help?!? - 07-31-2005, 09:49 AM

From the Trinity River Horse Trials shootaround that took place in Fort Worth I was offered a job shooting some promotional material for the event organizers.

While it started out as a simple shoot, it has grown quite a bit since then I know when I'm over my head so I'm asking for help.

First off, pay is nothing (for me as well) but full credit will be given to any photos used. The photos are for use in presentations to solicitate sponsorship for next years event. The clients are a non-profit organization.

Here are some details:

When: Monday, August 1st from 3:30pm to sundown
Where: Trinity Park in Fort Worth
What: 2 horses, 3 Cadillac's, 1 trailer, 1 hotel, 1 hotel manager, 1 woman in dressage

Challenges abound in this shoot. Reflections, shade, lighting, angles, positioning, you name it. White vehicles with black dressage and black horse (can you say wedding!).

If you're interested in joining myself and David Bailey, please either email me, pm me or post a message here and I can give you more details.

Wow, I'd kill for the chance to shoot with you and David.

Unfortunaltey my D70s is finding it's new home Monday around 11am, and I won't get my D2x until Tuesday at the absolute earliest.

Damn the luck.

Wish you could be there as well but that's one heck of an excuse!

When you get the "X", let's go shoot something.

Howdy Joe,

 , on being in over your head I know the feeling, Barbara had contacted me several weeks ago about the shoot and I told Matt since I hadn't done any commerical work I didn't feel like it was something that I wanted to take a chance on the results since it was so important to them and gave them some names.

Good luck on the shoot, glad you got some referrals from the Trinity Horse Event.

Thanks Craig,

I figured as much when they showed me all their favorite images and only one of them was mine (grin). Still, it's something I've always wanted to do, I just wish it was the one thing and not everything else they've added since but with David and Jake's help, we'll get it done right!

I'll post some final images when we're done.

They did request a specific photo from me and I arranged to send it to them (with some credit compensation), but I never heard any more back from them.

I'd love to help, but there is no way I can do it tomorrow.

Yeah, they showed me that one, it was their favorite of the bunch. I do think they have plans for it and will be contacting you in time about it.

Wish you could make it.

Thanks Lisa,

I was very lucky David and Jake came along as it was a LOT of work setting up and shooting. What started as a small 1 hour project blossomed into a huge ordeal taking almost 4 hours and 4 different locations to complete. There's no way I could have done it myself.

Huge thanks to David and Jake and the brilliant ideas they came up with as the shoot progressed.
