Bobby, Nice capture of such a sad event.

About the memory card, I have my cameras set so they wont shoot without a card in them. In Menu, go to shoot w/o card and select off (4th selection down on your 30D). You may already know that, but just in case you didnt I thought Id share.

I shot this in North Richland Hills at about 7:30 yesterday morning.
While I don't know this as fact, I suspect this was a meet-up for a local Motor Officers to group ride over to Dallas for the Funeral.

15 Police Harleys and a Squad car. All neatly in a row. All front wheels turned left in line. All with helmets sitting on the right mirror. 11 Motors on this side of the isle, 4 more Motors and the Car in line on the other. An impressive sight to be sure!

Did anyone see the firemen? That was the most amazing thing I've seen for a funeral escort.... on the bridge for Galatin Parkway, two fire engines blocked the road and extended their ladders and it looked like a fallen cross.... the firemen stood beneath the ladders with their arms around each other and their heads bowed....

Citizens along the service road had stopped and exited their vehicles to stand and face the funeral procession out of respect.

It was an amazing thing to witness....

I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the entire motorcade from my 6th floor office window. It was an incredible experience.

There was a photographer, maybe a Richardson FD employee, on the Gallatyn-Renner overpass with the fire trucks. I went past him earlier and from a distance looked like a 70-200 Canon.

Poor focus behind the camera creates as many bad photos as poor focus through the camera!

An ex boyfriend of my mom's was an OKC Police Officer and died chasing a guy...we rode in the police motorcade and all I can say is it was one of the most amazing and powerful moments I have ever had in my life. The dedication those men and women have not only to us but to each other is inspiring!
