C-17 at NAS - 03-01-2008, 12:15 AM

I got a quick photo of a departing C-17 at Carswell NAS today before the photo gurus of Keith Robinson and Joe Lorenzini arrived. It was fun briefing Joe with some local information while he was shooting away with his D-3. Keith was quietly reading the newspaper awaiting the departure of Glacier Girl. An impromptu get together of photographers. Great fun.

I thought you came away empty handed Tom. You had a good day afterall! Glad you had a good time. Cool shot.

Thanks Roy. After watching f-16's and f-18's streak by, this big aircraft seems like it is lumbering along at a speed way too slow for flight. As it got closer I had to back off on the 70-200 to keep the whole aircraft in the frame. The next flight of the f-35 is scheduled for Tuesday.

I liked to say thanks to all of you Tom, Keith And Joe for posting the aircraft pictures, for those of us who live to far away to run out and enjoy them (planes).
They are all great shots.

I'm off work Tuesday and would love to go out there and try my hand at this. Any idea what time the F-35 will fly, and would you be willing to have a newbie around asking dumb questions?

A thousand Thank's for shooting my baby.
I work on the vertical stab.( when I'm there) and am proud to build the first ever
aircraft built on time and under budget. Next time I see you I'll have a co. poster of it
for you.

Wonderful Tom! That's a great shot, the hangers in the distance give it good scale.

Now that I see what you were talking about I'm bummed I missed it by as close as I did.
