Got seats on the field. Jimmy does not disappoint.

True, Jimmy does not disappoint, but the cost of entry to Margaritaville has increased greatly

This is so very true! Problem is he keeps raising the prices and people keep showing up. Vicious man, just vicious.

That, and I heard the last time he was here, the concert kind of sucked.

I heard that from several different friends of mine.

I went to the last set at Pizza Hut Park. While it was enjoyable, it wasn't the experience I was used to in California. But then again, I worked at the venue, so I had access and other 'privileges' that I certainly can't get at PHP. I don't think I'd say it sucked, but it was rather 'predictable'.

My (fairly vast) experience which includes many years at California, New Orleans and Dallas venues is that the enjoyment level of a Buffett concert is in direct relation to time spent in the parking lot (ie. Margaritaville) before said concert.

Yes... I would completely agree!

My mention of 'privileges' includes bringing in my own refreshments! That extends the true Margaritaville experience

those prices are a little steep for me. I think I'll just go to the local Chinese Buffet for $7.95

It's funny. When I lived in Key West back in the 80's, Jimmy opened his first Margaritaville Café down there. On occasion, he would show up unannounced and play all night for free. I was never fortunate enough to be there on one of those nights, but several of my friends were. I guess times (and prices) have changed.
