I've lived in Texas my entire life and the last time I saw snow like this I was in Vermont! Have fun in Chicago.

I have a friend that lives out on N. Agnes. About two mines into Wise County, on top of a hill. She was telling me the same thing!
It's DEEP S...now up there too!

I know exactly where Agnes is. Maybe 10 minutes from here, if you hit the light at 51 on red. Very wild.

call from my son, presently stuck on 635, watching it snow ("flakes as large as golfballs"). Hopefully his classes tonight are cancelled.

I can verify that because those were the exact words I used to describe them. It has stopped snowing and after 5 hours of steady snow the final total is 8 1/2 inches. Am I still in Texas?

My patio table is level all the way across. I stuck a ruler in it 6 1/2 inches and still falling. Preston road up my way is 2 lane and very dangerous. The snow slush is about a foot tall between lanes and the rest is starting to ice over. The drive in tomorrow will be white knuckle.

Debbi. I just called my friend NW of you in Wise County, on whatever N Agnes Road turns into when it crosses the county line, and she said a ruler in the snow in her back yard shows 10 inches. It took her husband 2 1/2 hours to get home fron FW. 199 was closed by the High School and he had to take 51 to get home.
When he got home a welding truck had run into the ditch near their house, and he had to go get his tractor to get that guy out of the ditch!!!!

Like you said...IS THIS TEXAS???

I believe you, Paul! I drive a Mustang GT and left work at 12:15. I got home at almost 2:00. Until Azle, it wasn't bad. After that, it was an inch or more of sleet below the snow. I thought I was going to have to leave my car in the intersection of my street and 199 because I was sliding so bad. I waited until no one was coming, backed up a little, and punched it. Slid across 199 and honestly down my street. Still can't get my car in the garage (even after hubby trying with kitty litter). I guess it will be cold tonight.

Sorry wrong thought. The title of this thread made me think of something else.
