F-35 returns from air refueling tests

Also had 5 visitors from the 162nd FW out of Tucson AZ stop by for gas.

Great ones as usual.

Next flight is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25th. If they keep the current schedule it should lift off 8-8:30 and return a couple of hours later that morning. This is a very tentative schedule, and a SWAG on my part.

I also heard the CatBird was out taxi testing yesterday..... hoping for some test flights soon.

Sometimes they carry live ordinance. Not very often from what I can tell though.

Update: I expect the F-35 flight to go off around 9:30am. I'll be there by 9am.

Former USAF Weapons Loader here......

The easist way to tell if the munitions are live is by the color bands around them - Blue=inert or Training. This is what you will see most of the time, unless you are in a combat zone or near an alert base/facility. By the way, the largest items you see on these Jets are not bombs, but simply external fuel tanks.

Hope that puts you mind at ease, somewhat....
