Yes, it was a Canon SD1000.

Here is the rig:

My kite, I bought at the website below, the "rainbow turtle rokkaku":

The rokakku kite is a traditional Japanese design and is very stable in the air, without a tail. Ideally your kite will look like a postage stamp in the sky, motionless. This kite is 6.5 feet tall, so it has a lot of power to lift, even in light winds.

Stability is also achieved by the picavet suspension on the rig.

The way this particular rig works is that one servo rotates the rig 360deg in small increments. And the second servo pushes the shutter. This is all done automatically. There are other rigs that Brooxes sells that use remote control to point the camera and take the picture. You can also get rigs to fly a SLR.
