The festival is this weekend. You can download a map and find the nice spots where there are fields of bluebonnets.

I was here Sunday and there was hardly any flowers. I think they are about 2 - 3 weeks away from coming up. I would advise against going to the festival as there wont be any flowers.

I plan on heading back down there in a couple of weeks as it is simply the best place for large fields with lakes, etc that I have found.

Every time I have gone herds of people have trampled the flowers around the lake.

Nice shot Jeff.

Ah, but there are a couple of lakes that are not on the map. I use googlemaps to determine where the lakes and and use the trails to determine how to get there.

I wish I could get down there. There are so few bluebonnets around this year locally.
