Bluebonnet Locations - 04-21-2008, 06:08 PM

If anyone is interested in getting bluebonnet photos before they die and go away for the summer, here are some highways where they are flourishing.

Spur 408 toward Grand Prairie/Arlington area

I-20 West and I-20 East toward Duncanville, Desoto, Grand Prairie and Arlington

I rode up and down I-35 North and South yesterday and there were NO bluebonnets in site.

Wish I lived closer to that area, pickings are a bit slim around here, even went to Chapel Hill. Found some great fields but they were fenced off. People get tired of all the tourist trampling around. Found this small patch along the road between Chapel Hill and Washington.

the 2nd image is one of the same girls a few years back.

I found a great spot near DFW airport. It is on the North side of 114/121 on either side of Trinity Parkway (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...9184&t=h&z=17).

Below are a couple pictures of my little girl from Sunday.

The chair really helped to get her in one spot and facing the right direction for a few seconds.

She is my world!

Thanks for posting the information and the photos, John. I've been looking for some 'bonnets for a weekend shoot.

John, the chair does quite a bit for the photo. Works really great.

In Plano there are several great patches along Bethany between Alma and 75. All along the Montgomery Farms area in the media of the road. It's a really wide median so it's perfectly safe for kids. It's also hilly so you don't even see the traffic or houses.
Great spot!
