Hey for those who has been what are the rules on equipment? I looked at their site they really didn't list anything other than can't mess other peoples view of the game. I'm on the fence about taking my gear anyway cause we are up in section 239, but i was thinking maybe i can get some shots at batting practice. I haven't been to the ballpark in arlington so while BP is going on can i walk down to the lower levels to get shots? Back in the day of the old astrodome you could do that but things change lol.

Take your gear had no problem taking in a 70-200 2.8 IS last year. The Rangers have a very good camera policy especially compared to some other teams (ie Nationals). When the crowd leaves in the 6th/7th inning venture down to the $eats for more pictures.

CAMERA AND VIDEO EQUIPMENT
Cameras and video equipment are permitted in Rangers Ballpark. However, flash photography, video reproductions and equipment that might interfere with another guest's enjoyment of the game are prohibited.

Yeah, they are pretty cool out there.
I took a 300mm f/4 with no questions asked the last time I was there.

You might give them a call to ask about batting practice. There is the chance for injury and sue-age. When I was allowed to wander around during practice many years ago, it was when I had press passes and had to sign my life away to get them. And during the game I was stuck in the third-base well, but fortunately that was right next to the visiting dugout, which was where I needed to be.

Good luck!
