Sounds like when I was gone a lot back in the 70's shooting for a church directory company. The kids would ask, "Momma, who is that man at our house?" When momma couldn't tell them I knew I had been away too long.

During the summer months I photograph almost 200 high school seniors in addition to family sessions and weddings. My assistant is responsible for helping me in the camera room with lighting, props, background changes, etc. They also help the clients as they arrive and leave. Another duty is downloading memory cards at the end of each session. I don't expect them to know how to do these things, but at the end of the summer it will all be second nature.

In exchange, I will teach you everything I know about posing and lighting both in the studio and on location. I will also teach (as time permits) some basic business, sales, and marketing information.

Almost all of my past assistants have been high school or college students interested in a career in photography. I have no problem with someone older, but most of those already have a family/life and it is difficult for them to arrange that much time away.

If you think this might work for you give me a call. My cell is (940) 390-2403.

That's what I am looking for. Most of the Saturday work will be weddings and there are lot's of folks here that want to tag along on those.

Don, I'll be here all summer long. I'm doing one class every summer session and they will all be from 10am until noon, but other than that I'm free. I'm gonna send you a PM so I don't hijack this thang.

Thanks to all who responded. I plan to make my selections this week-end so if you are interested you need to respond today. I have sent PMs to a couple of those that responded, but didn't follow up. This will really be a tough choice.

Mowing the pasture, cleaning toilets, taking out the trash,........... Seriously a little bit of everything. I usually have interns actually doing part of each session by the second or third week. I let them set up the shot and take a couple of images then I will tweak their poses and explain why I think it is an improvement. We get instant feedback from the back of the camera.
