It depends on what you're shooting whether these will work.
Southlake: Centennial Park, Bob Jones Park (check city Web site).
Keller: Bear Creek Park has covered bridge, creek, nice trees, gazebos, playgrounds (although other parks in town have better playgrounds). Some flowers, but not many.
Grapevine: Botanical Gardens, but if this is a professional shoot (money changing hands) you'll have to pay the fee ($75 for first shoot, $50 after, and it has to be pre-scheduled with the city).

Lake Grapevine has several parks that I have shot at - they all have different features, so explore!

Could you please tell me the location for Bear Creek Park? I've tried Googling it, but none of the sites show good directions. I don't know the Keller area AT ALL, but am definitely interested in checking out the covered bridge.
Thanks! | | | |

Take Rufe Snow North from 820 or S from 1709. From 820 about 5 miles, from 1709 about 1/2 mile. PArk is across from Keller Town Centre.

Bear Creek park is about a half a mile east of rt. 377 on Bear Creek Parkway.

Here's a GoogleMaps link that you can get directions from: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e....0159&t=h&z=16
Centennial Park in Southlake is nice too. I shot some portraits there back in December - they have a very nice little garden area with a gazebo, flowers, big river rocks and a stream.

Bicentennial park in Southlake off of White Chapel and Southlake Blvd is nice. It has a pretty gazebo, all sorts of flowers, a nice little fountain, and multi-colorred cows! :)

Thanks for the info, Robb! I found "Centennial Park" in Irving and I was totally confused...LOL! So now I know there is a "Centennial Park" in Irving AND a "Bicentennial Park" in Southlake :-)
I'll have to check them BOTH out!

Are there any good places at Bob Jones Park to shoot maternity pictures?
If not, I'm looking for a location around Hwy 114 and I-35W to shoot maternity. Any ideas?

I would recommend to anyone that they scout out a location before taking a client there, and try to do it about the same time of day you plan to shoot. That ensures you know where you are going and will show you the lighting, which is the most important consideration in choosing a site. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
