Face Painting at the Boogie - 05-12-2008, 12:31 AM

The Buffalo Boogie, that is.....

Ft Worth, TX. has one of the largest and best Nature Centers in the US. They also have a very active "Friends of the Nature Center" group. The "Friends" have an annual fund raiser, called "Buffalo Boogie", sort of a contraction of the fact that the NC has a viable and increasing herd of native American Buffalo and a 5K timed race for runners, (the Boogie part).

The BB is a family oriented affair held every year in the Spring. In addition to the Run, they have a small Carnival with a number of booths to keep the kids interested.

I have had the honor to volunteer as photographer for the last 5 years or so. (I could look back and count up my t-shirts, I guess.)
One of the popular kid's booths is face painting. The two ladies who do the face painting, are exceptional in their craft. Here are a few of the shots I got of the kid's faces.

I need to mention that I've had the expert help in past years from TPF members Nancy Wilkins, Jake McKee, and Bruce & Laurie Burton (yep he does shoot color too), as well as my wife Sheryl.

You can't go wrong with the face painting booths. Every event I've been to that have face painting also have long lines. Good job Jerry and kudos to Nancy, Jake, Bruce, Laurie, Sheryl and you.

Thanks Roy.

Nancy, no age limit. One of the ladies running one of the other booths had the tiger face.
