Lone Star Park camera rules? - 05-14-2008, 12:41 PM

Hello..After seeing some great pictures on the forum, I thought it would be fun to give it a try. I just need to know if anyone knows what you can bring or can't bring in to Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie. I was wanting to take my 120-300 2.8 lens for my Nikon. It is quite large and didn't want to leave it in the car if they refused to let me in with it. Also, are monopods okay to bring in? I had seen other posts on here about L.S. Park, but really did not cover size of lens or tripods or monopods. I thank you in advance for any information you can give me.....

I've been with a whole group of big lens photogs without a word from the park.

Biggest was the 600 Nikon monster taken in by DavidTxs.

Don't worry, they won't hassle you.

Great. That's what I was hoping to be the case. Wow, a 600mm? Awesome. I bet they rolled it on a dolly!! Reminds me of a Crocodile Dundee quote "that's not a knife........now this is a knife". Thanks Tom!

Went last weekend. NO problem with anything you bring. Go General Admission and take a chair to sit in between races. After standing for 7 hours my legs hurt. Umbrella for sun protection, ice chest for cool drinks (no adult beverages) you have to purchase them there.

Terry and I were thinking of going either this Friday or SUnday.
