Nice park in North Dallas - 05-14-2008, 03:05 PM

A couple of years ago, I shot some pics (prints) of the kids in a park I just happened on in the north Dallas area.... I think around Inwood and Northwest Hwy (can't remember, though).

The park was quite nice with a lovely bridge over a creek made from stone... I believe it was an arched bridge...

Unfortunately, I have no idea where it was.... any thoughts?

I live in the area you mention and I can not think of any park with a bridge. One that does come to mind is just south of Dallas country club on Turtle creek. It is just south of Beverly Drive and just east of Preston Rd. I would love to know what park you speak of. I hope this helps.

This is probably not what you are referring to but there is Mallon Park in Farmers Branch. 635 to Josey ln North about half a mile. It has several bridges over a creek... pretty park. Shot a wedding there once.

I grew up in North Dallas and I can't think of any park close to Inwood/NW Highway. There are lots of large estate homes that may well have bridges over water, but nothing public unless there is some park connected to Lover's Lane Methodist. There also was an old house on NW Hwy that was a Y facility - I've never noticed if it is still there or not. Don't know if it had anything behind it on the creek.

It does sound like you might be thinking of something along Lakeside Drive in Highland Park. As someone said, it is East of Preston Road and runs South from Beverly Drive. There are also some parks with water off McFarlin & University (down by UP Police/Fire and the Presby. Church) and one off Lover's Lane (across from UP Elementary). Also one off Hillcrest, north of Southwestern Blvd.

Thanks, everyone.... Indeed it was the series of parks in Highland Park on Lakeside Drive.

Thanks again.

The arched bridge that I believe you're talking about is located right across the street from where I live - it's at the corner of Turtle Creek and Lemmon Avenue.

There is a church at the intersection of NWH/Inwood that does have a bridge over a creek that's been there many years. Don't know if that's the one you're talking about. It connects the parking lot to the church.
