Where is a good place to buy photography equipment, locally? I am not a big fan of Wolf so if there is any other place I would love to go there this weekend to check it out. Help please!

Arlington Camera is where I have been going lately, I like Fort Worth Camera but the guy I worked with is no longer there and so I started paying significantly more because they others didn't know me. Arlington Camera is really easy to get to and they have a pretty good selection of stuff.

Arlington Camera is fantastic. Went there to buy a few lenses and accessories a few weeks ago, loved the customer service and the layout of the store :)

I'll second Arlington Camera. They're a bit of a haul for me, but they're really great to work with. The prices are reasonable (I think). I usually call ahead and they put my order together for me so I can just run in and pick it up. I usually have at least one kid/baby with me so it's nice to not have to wait around or anything. They're also really helpful!

+1 for Arlington Camera. The prices approach B&H listings, and sometimes it's worth shelling out for the sales tax to have solid local service and an item in hand immediately. They've got lots of great stuff and good people.

The Camera Nazi (aka, Competative Camera) on Irving Blvd, or Garland Camera on Shilo & NW HWY.

I pretty much exclusively buy from Competitive Camera. I just picked up a D300 from them cheaper than I could get one online from BH or Adorama. I also picked up a Nikon 70-200 which Ft Worth Cam didnt have in stock, and also got a 24-70 Nikon from them (Arlington or Ft Worth didn't have that in stock). Their prices are on par with online (adorama or BH)...WAY cheaper than Wolf (never ever will buy anything from Wolf). Plus the guys have a HUGE rental selection if you're ever in a jam. Talk to Eugene, he's a good guy.

Close to Hurst would be Arlington Camera.

Depends on your needs. Arlington Camera is ok but was not that crazy about customer service last time I went...could have been an off day. I have only been there three times ... just reminds me of a Wolf Camera.

For top digital supplies I would go with Imaging Spectrum in Dallas. Been around for 15 yrs and was one of the first digital only business in the US.

For prints, I only go to BWC Imaging in Richardson.

Tried some other local places, but they are just that local, and poor quality.
