Wakeboarding event in Hurst area - 05-31-2008, 04:20 PM

Ok off of 820 there is a little pond sort of thing that they use for wakeboarding. When driving by today i spotted some type of wakeboard event going on. So i swung in and took these shots with my 500mm (hand held) from across the event in a parking lot. They will be opening the gates at 8am and the cost is $10 is anyone wants to go. Since all my shots were from a poor location (to far away and shooting into the sun) i plan to head that way in the morning if anyone else want's to meet up.

Take 820 (on the east side of ft worth) and exit trinity blvd, go west on trinity blvd, then turn left on the first street Gravel Rd (thats the name) you can follow the name of the signs from there. Its the little body of water just south of the star.

I sent a message to the media director inquiring about photography restrictions. Doubt I'll hear anything back at this late hour, but thought I'd try anyway.

HAHA you did! I am going back to shoot a t-ball tourney in the morning. But after that I may go over there and see what I can do! I still have the problem of not having a low F-stop telephoto. mine is 5.6 at the long end. ugh

That's "Moser Lake," kind of a bow in the Trinity River, that is owned by MasterCraft Boats (there's a sales showroom just up the hill). Looks like a fun event, and with the finals tomorrow there will be some good action. Not that I know what good wakeboarding action looks like.

Loading mine up for the day.. I was there from about 8:30 till 1:30 or so..

Here is one of the first shots.. (still loading).

The guys that put on this show were really cool. I got a media pass and was able to shoot from the boat and/or tower. However, I pretty much just shot from the shoreline since I only shot with my 300...

I'll post more in the sports section later..
