Camera Show

I get this card in the mail every year for a camera show to be held in the Grapevine Convention Center. This year it will be on Sept 17 and 18. I have yet to go to the show but I've thought about it and wanted to see if anyone here has been to one. What can I expect if I decide to go?

That's about it. I thought there would be some people here that had been to the show. I went to one here in Fort Worth probably at least 10 years ago. Guess that's how I got on the mailing list. I don't know if it's worth the time or not. Guess we'll have to go to find out.

I have been to it. It is ok, not real big. A lot of older and antique stuff, a few vendors have new lenses, A few new digital cameras but mostly older cameras and parts. It is nice to attend, if you live close like I do, but I would not drive a long distance to attend it unless you are looking for older parts etc. You might find a bargain on a new lens or camera, but I wouldn't bank on it......but....you never know!

Camera shows have been in decline since eBay took off. Worth an hour or so. Not much current generation digital gear, but a number of outdated consumer digicams. Good deal of heavy brick vintage Nikon and Canon, some assorted less popular 35 mm systems, acres of odd-name zooms, and some silly money collectables. Good prices on film at the Film Depot table.

yeah, I wouldn't get overly excited. No bargains there and a bunch of junky stuff. Garage sale for photo gear at retail prices. It's like shopping at Don's Used Photo but worse. At least Don's doesn't charge $5.00 to get in the door. Don and his son Todd are usually close to the door. I'll pass.

Been there done that, save your $ sorry, have only got film at a great deal there Unless you like garage sales.
