Proposal location ideas? - 06-03-2008, 01:54 PM

Hi y'all . . .

My brother moved to Dallas a few months ago, and still isn't real familiar with the area, and asked me for help, even tho I don't live there . .LOL.

Anyway, he wants to propose to his girlfriend and is looking for an unusual/fun/memorable location to do it at, but not one that's really public (no baseball parks, or crowded restaurants). So I thought I'd ask those of you who actually live and shoot in Dallas for some help . ..

Any ideas?

Thanks
Cindy

Take her to the same store he bought the ring at. Have the store put her ring in the case with a little sign on it asking her to marry him.

Then just take her shopping...

Wow there are a lot of cool places around dallas. If you could maybe give us a little background info on the couple we might be able to help out a little better. When is he planning on doing this any idea? How did they meet? Things they are into?

Thanksgiving Square in downtown Dallas .. cool place, and usually mostly empty during the week.

I like Thanksgiving Square Chapel too. It's really amazing inside. But really I think that this is something he needs to think about and think about what is important to them both and decide like that.

Victory Park outside the American Airlines Center. With none of the Dallas teams playing right now, he could probably rent out the big sign and ask her to marry him.

Or rent one of those planes that tows banners and have it fly over wherever they are.

Fly her and the whole family to Paris and re-create that American Express commercial where the guy proposes in the big plaza with the fountain. (Is that in the budget?)

LOL, I don't think so!

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions . . he seems to have an idea of what he wants to do, but needs a location, and some creative guidance from his die-hard-romantic sister (me). I'll be passing these ideas (and any others that come along) on to him soon, probably this weekend.

Totally agree with this. The cutest thing I've ever seen was a session where the guy was telling his girlfriend that he just wanted some pics of the two of them. He could say that the photographer is just wanting experience and needs models. Then RIGHT in the middle of the shoot he could just kneel and propose and get all the expressions on film.
