A few shots from Saturdays semi-finals. 3 finalists were chosen and will go to Atlanta, Georgia to compete against other semi-finalists from around the country. The winner will receive a Christian recording contract, a new Ford and bunch of other stuff.

Shooting was with no flash (recording for t.v. show) with my new Sigma 120-300 f/2.8.

Nice shots David! Where was the event held?

It was held at the Irving Art Center on Friday and Saturday. About 300 people tried out on Thursday and on Friday the 15 semi-finalists were filmed for the t.v. program. 3 were chosen to go onto the finals in October.

So were the two girls in the last picture two of the three finalists that will go on? They certainly look happy enough.

Actually all three in the last shot were the finalists going to Atlanta.

And here I thought the gentelman in the last picture was the host of the show. See what happens when you dress in a suit.

Thanks! I have to give the credit to that new lens. Sigma 120-300 f/2.8. Its a beast but it sure is nice.

Wow, very nice. Great job of capturing the moment and the colored smoke behind them really adds to the atmosphere. Quality is impressive.

Looks like that lens might work out...

Yes, they had a little issue with the smoke machine so it came and went. At one point it engulfed the judges who were stage right.
