DFW North Photoshop/Digital Photography Meetup is going Strobist in July

The DFW North Photoshop/Digital Photography Meetup group is holding their next meeting on July 9th in Frisco/Plano. The topic of the month is creative outdoor lighting or "Strobist". It should be worth attending. They are looking for volunteers with Strobist experience.

If you have experience of using creative outdoor light or creating lighting effects in photoshop please let me know. If you want to be part of July's presentation please volunteer. We will communicate by internet and at least one planning meeting.

It looks like the lighting part is only an hour so I might confirm how much "Strobist" type work they might do. It might just be creative lighting and not just focused on Strobist.

They put the "chair" comment on there because one of the members allows them to hold the meetings in his picture framing business. There is no seating so if you want to sit, you need to bring a chair.

As I get more information I will post it. I doesn't look like much time for lighting. They split the sessions between photography, photoshop, and show and tell.

Well if I can learn just 1 thing I can use in my strobographyistism, then thats money in the bank.

Ahhh crap i just realized this is on wednesday, and I have classes on wednesday. ARG!!! I might have to miss class just this one time.

wasn't making fun of the chair...was laughing because i asked if i needed to bring something...and i knew if i didn't say "besides the chair" someone would state the obvious.

seriously though, do i need to bring something? laptop?

htey didnt specify am or pm. and I know several of us don't hesitate to wake at 6am for some soft lighting.

I know, it does sound kinda funny. I wondered the same thing the first time I showed up. I don't think you need anything, I will find out.

It doesn't look like this meetup will have much of a "strobist" feel though... but I could be wrong.

The Strobist meetup has moved to next month. The August meetup will have a Strobist speaker with some setups. The July meeting will be a creative lighting meetup.
