Photoshoot help!!! - 08-22-2005, 03:36 PM

I am going to be doing a shoot for a local electronic music DJ. The name of his cd is "Reality Check". We will be doing some shots in Deep Ellum area. Does anyone have any ideas that go along with the theme?? Thanks in advance.

First thing that came to mind would be a large check made out to the DJ for several million Dollars. Kind of the Opposite of a "reality check".

really depends on what his take/style is. Electronic is very diverse - could be anything from techno dance to moody stuff. You could try some contrasting things - rich/poor, turntable with Wall Street Journal article on it. It all depends on how "real" he wants to get. Just be careful with copyrights and that type of stuff.

Sounds like fun and look forward to seeing the results.

Personally, I think anything in Deep Ellum tends to have a harder edge. Art Deco, Tat's, punk, you know...the Church people crowd. I did some model work down there pretty recently and even though she's female it has that harder edge. Boy, did we ever draw a crowd, it must have been MY good looks.

Thanx for all the suggestions. He plays Drum n Bass by the way. I thought of going there like midnight on a weekday and placing a dj table setup (table w/ turntables and mixer) right in the middle of the street and taking the shot in the direction of the street with deep elum in focus behind him.

Me likey!!!! I WANT a red door like that sans grafitti and the metal strip at the bottom.

Great shot with the door. The other one is a little harsh on the sunlight, but still cool.
