Very nice!!! I really need to spent some time hanging out at the Joint Reserve Base - I'd love to get a shot like this. Are there certain times that are better than others for catching take offs?

Thanks John. . . .as for when is a good time to catch a take off, it varies. . . most any weekday is a sure bet something will be flying. . . some days are busy, some very slow. . . Mostly F-16's from the 301st AFRC. . . or the 2 F-18 Hornet units. . . and 2 units flying the C-130 transport. . . and also flights from Lockheed-Martin. . . .

Nice shot! I just love those falcons.

Guess eveyone has heard that the Thunderbirds had a midair collision. Noone injured or killed but they are grounded until they find out what happened. If I understand right, they are supposed to appear at an airshow in Ft Worth on the weekend of Sept 24th. Sure hope they can return to show status by then.

Keith
I think these guys are watching for your truck when they take off. When I'm there all they do is go straight out........ Maybe I 'll see you over there today ? I am on standby for some headshots at a local business, and will kill some time watching the boys play with their toys.

Thanks Tom, I'd like to think it's me. . . but I think they know a lot of photogs hang out there and make their breaks accordingly. . . . but it is a great spot. .. Would love for the F-18 guys to do the same but they never break off. . .they continue straight south. . .doubt I make it out there today. . . probably not until thursday will I be out there. . . hopefully it will cool down to 130 degrees by then. . . . .I'll keep an eye out for ya.

yeah, I saw the video of what happened. . . one guy knocked the missile wing mount of another off. . . It did not look like anything that would jeopardize the rest of the season. . but who knows. . . I hope not. . . looking forward to seeing them at Alliance in September.

It did not take them long to decide to resume their schedule...

I wonder if their will be a public practice day like the Blues had on JRB a few months ago.

This is good news. I sure hope to get to see them. Been since the early 80s in my CAP cadet days since I've seen them perform.
