Fire on the Turnpike - 06-23-2008, 02:06 PM

Saw this around lunchtime on the Bush TPK. The cab was completely engulfed in flames when I first saw it, but by the time I could pull over and get my camera out, they were getting it under control.

I usually don't keep gear in my car due to the theft issue, but I shot an event Sat, and happened to have it handy.

What a rockin' photo! Excellent Tom! You should submit that one to the DMN.

Great shot!, great action! You can still see a bit a fire in the lower left corner.

On the front page of their webpage (DallasNews.com), there is a menu option named "Photos/Video". Under there there is an option named "View/Submt Your Photos". That's where I submitted one a few years ago that got used.

I found it. Thanks. Probably won't get used, but I doubt I'm sitting on a copyright goldmine on this one. (You have to give it up when you submit it.)

That was just West of Josey Lane at about 11:45 today.

You still were able to get the shot in time! Way to go, Tom!

That is a great shot. You might even see if the fire department wants a copy. You might be able to find the exact company/station using the firefighter's name visible on his coat.

Wow. I'm often tempted to lug the camera around with me on my work commute but fear theft as well but it really paid off here!
