Talking Industrial Backdrop! Found! - 06-30-2008, 02:18 PM

I'm looking to shoot sort of a goth/alternative fashion scene. I'm sort of new to the Dallas area.

Can anyone suggest a good spot for a backdrop... something old, gritty and maybe with some abandoned machinery? I've seen brick buildings, but that's been done so many times. I was hoping someone can point me in a better direction.

Thanks!

*Update*
We found a great outdoor location in Fort Worth on off of Hemphill and Dickerson. I think its an abandoned loading dock for trains or something. Across the street there are old train track parts and what looked like the remnants of a large building... Exactly what I was looking for. We didn't need to trespass, either!

Here's a few test shots I took with my little sister. She's an aspiring model... I figured we could trade for our portfolio Anyway we went this afternoon and it was just overcast enough to make for perfect outdoor lighting.

Critique if you like, but I'm a beginner so go easy on me. They came out pretty good considering I didn't have a reflector or anything. Just got lucky

I know a Haunted House that would let you shoot there for a small donation (they raise money for a charity that benefits a Special Olympics team).

Oh, please, no. I wouldn't give the owner of that house a cold.

Thanks, Chris! I'm hoping to get some more equipment soon, so it should make for some even better shots.
