large group shoot - 07-07-2008, 04:30 PM

Sam,

There are two parks I am aware of that have amphitheatres with steps.

The first is in Mansfield on Hwy 157 just south of Pleasant Ridge before you enter historic downtown. I forget the name of it now. But it has steps running up the middle and then multi-tiered grassy seatting areas on either side of the steps that would work great for a large group.

I also believe that the amphitheater at Veterans Park in Arlington might work for a large group. It is off of Arkansas lane.

I hope this helps.

I was also thinking about the Courthouse, but maybe even the Water Gardens. That is, if the family isn't creeped out by the tragic events there a few years ago.

Downtown Fort Worth, just north of the main courthouse building, is a sunken area below street level.. there are grassy amphitheater style steps down there.

If you want to pay the fee, the Rose Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden has some pretty places.
