Does anyone remember the Free Car washes the "Mountain Climbing Team" provided after the football games, while we waited in line on Marsh Lane to get through the Red Light at Valley View?

that place was originally built by an English man named R B George. I think almost everyone at one time or another went exploring on the property. It was a very cool place. The police were always out there running someone off.
Heck remember the old Dog and Suds at Marsh and Forest. Everyone would drive up and down Forest from the Jack in the Box up to Marsh and skate boarding on the Kmart parking lot across the street. The school fights there too.

I also remember Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs playing at the Armory in Irving. Or the Dick Clark like TV program at Northpark. We would go and stand outside hoping to get in.

I am impressed as I think back on it your right. Do you remember Lou Anns on Greenville. I saw Paul Revere and the Raiders there on New Years Eve one year. Also the Club on Cherry lane with Kenny and the Casuals

Dave,
I have never been much of a club goer but I do remember those places. The first concert I went to was Elton John in the Cotton Bowl. Also saw Billy Joel in the convention center. Saw Electric Light Orchestra in Ft Worth.

I actually was not either. The only other concert I saw was Peter, Paul and Mary at SMU. I was just mentioning them as it seems everyone wanted to be part of the happenings. I also am a but older than you guys as I graduated in 1967, but Dallas had not changed that much by the early 70's. I came back home then from the service in the early 70"s and it seemed that Dallas begain to really grow

The club where Kenny & the Kasuals played was the Studio Club on Sherry Lane in Preston Center. They're still playing at various venues in Dallas!

I was there at the Cotton Bowl for Elton John. What a tight band. Yellow Brick Road album was just about to be released, and they played some of the songs.

Best concert of all time for me was Jimi Hendrix at SMU McFarland. "Are You Experienced" was the only album out at the time.

Seeing Kenny and the Kasuals with Nancy is a Blast!

I went to Louann's every Friday night using a fake drivers license and a "Hawk Club" card that looked like the selective service card as a second verifying ID.

We were resourceful in Oak Cliff.

I went to so many concerts it would be hard to remember which was the first but they started in the early 60's. Maybe Bob Dylan at one of the local coffee houses like the Rubaiyat or Cellar.

Jim the Rubaiyat was founded by singer songwriter Ron Shipman, the uncle of a dear friend of mine. Ron blessed us a few times this year by performing house concerts for a few close friends. The stories he tells are legendary. If you want to take a stroll down memory lane, I’ll make sure you get invited next time he comes over with his guitar.

That would be a treat!

I also remember two other places I liked to go eat in North Dallas off of Lovers Ln. It was Fish&Chips and Vesuvios. Both have long since gone. In fact I believe Vesuvios burned down.

I see that WTW and LHHS are both in the same district this year and playing at LOOS. I may show up and take a few photos and just photoshop an LH in the middle of the field.
