Oh very nice! Love the eye contact, love the flower's added touch of color. Great capture.

Nice pictures! I would bump the saturation in the fist one and add some local contrast enhancement (USM at 15% 50 0). Great captures.

Keith, pbase does often drop the saturation a little bit, but I was thinking a LOT more. I took the liberty of playing with your picture - if you mind let me know and I'll remove the picture. Anyway, this is more what I had in mind:

It's not as accurate as your picture I'm sure, but I find it more pleasing - YMMV.

I love the poses on both of these! I like the enhanced saturation better, also, but you nailed the photo itself.

Still looks plenty hot there at the zoo. At least you got the tiger with open eyes. Back in June I couldn't even get that. Man, it was hot that day and humid.

Nice shots though.

I'm gonna have to get some or at least one new lens.

yeah. . .something about the zoo. . . it gets very, very humid there. . . whatever the reason is. . . I have been there twice in the past year. . . this time was not as bad as last. After an hour there you get drenched in sweat. .

Keith, all I did was use the extract tool to select just the tiger, pumped up curves and saturation, inverted the selection to make the background darker, and then applied a USM of 20% 50 0 to the whole picture.

It only took me 5 minutes. If I had it to do over again I would have been gentler with the curves, saturation, and local contrast enhancement (USM).

curves are something I am still trying to get the hang of. . . .I re-posted the pic at the top of the link.. . improved the saturation on the tiger and the flower . . . looks a little better. . .

Keith - I think it looks a LOT better. In fact, if you could just increase the brightness of the tiger's face with levels or curves I think it would be perfect. Good job.

These are great! Another zoo that is a favorite of mine is the Waco Zoo. Can't remember the name...but the design (long views, few fences blocking your view) is wonderful for photographers...
