Private, Indoor, w/ Natural Light? - 08-21-2008, 05:13 PM

Hello,
I am looking for a small private space to borrow or rent for a photo shoot. I am only shooting with natural light, so it needs to have lots of windows. I can bring backgrounds. This is a maternity client, so privacy is really important. We would only be shooting for an hour at the most.

Thanks for any creative suggestions!
Candace

Candace, there are studios you can rent by the hour with. Look under Studio rental on the forum to see their listing and prices.

http://www.studioarlington.com/ has a lot of windows on all walls. Open spaces. I'd be glad to help.

Their hourly rate is the best in the area. Tell them Tom sent you.

I told them Tom sent me and they charged me double! I kid, I kid! I'll have to stop by there sometime. You have plans on being up there anytime soon, Tom?

I've got to go there Monday or Tuesday next week to pick up my lights, etc. for a commercial gig on Wednesday. call my cell 682-465-0358 and then I'll have your number and I'll call when I decide to go. Waiting for flash triggers to come on Monday, and then off to the studio to make sure they work and get the gear.

What about her home, if she has one?

That's what I was going to ask.. Why not do it at home? I guess she could perhaps live in a basement or something. But almost every home has at least one good window, and with a reflector and *oh noes* a speedlight for fill, it could work. I know.. you said natural light only.. But trust me.. a speedlight has been my salvation many a times..

maybe she is going with natural light cause she doesn't have any flash equipment. Everyone has their own taste when it comes to the out come of their shots.

I've got a couple of flashes, but when possible always prefer natural light when it's good. And really, when it's good, nothing can beat it!
