looking for chicano graffiti location - 08-22-2008, 04:32 PM

Looking for a location to shoot my buddy's custom Harley. He's looking for a graffiti wall but specifically wants chicano/latino style graffiti. Not real sure what that means but he wants the photos to have a lowrider mag/vatos y viclas esq feel to them. Does anyone know of place that sounds anything like this?

Thanks in advance.

Not off the top of my head but I would guess find an area that is settled heavily by the kind of culture that creates that kind of thing.. and perhaps you'll find some. I believe Walnut between say Garland and Jupiter is pretty heavily that kind of area, there may be some around there, but I'd scope it out first.

I'm not sure what culture is depicted in it, but over here near Fort Worth ... and this will sound strange ... there's a public storage business with 21 panels of very colorful, awesomely sick graffiti on the back. I posted a few pics of it a while back in this forum (search for "tarrant graffiti" or something like that).

It is just south of Northeast Loop 820 on Haltom Road in Haltom City. There are probably a few ways to get to it from Dallas, but possibly take Highway 183 west, take the north exit for 820 and then take the Haltom Road exit (there's a water tower with a buffalo on it). Turn left onto Haltom, and the storage place is pretty close on the left side of the road. The graffiti is on the back side of the storage buildings and is not fenced.

You could also try mapping the address for the storage place (it's in the original post). Good luck! There are so many backgrounds to choose from I'm sure one will work.

Question, is it all grass all the way around the wall?

Yes. It's on the back of some of the storage buildings, and there's an empty field next to it. If you were looking for paved, I guess that wouldn't work for you. (on the other hand, the grass is usually mowed there).
