Need photographer for 5K @ White Rock

Hello Everyone-

I am needing a photographer or two for a colon cancer 5K that will be at White Rock Lake Nov 1st.

This is a first year event, so I don't have a huge budget for photography. I can tell you that this will be a yearly event, so it could turn into a annual job!! I am the local coordinator and have never done a 5K before..so I'm not EXACTLY sure what to tell you to expect.

If you are interested, please PM me. Also, if you have any experience with shooting a 5K, please let me know...I would love to pick your brain a little.

I'm a complete amateur but I am willing to help out in any way. This is a subject that is near to my...um...heart. :) I have several family members diagnosed with colon cancer and I test positive for polyps every three years myself.

Also, as an amateur radio operator I have worked many White Rock Marathons so I am familiar with the area. -G

Hi Glen-

I just sent you a PM. I forgot to add something. I have had a man in your shoes tell me that adding selenium to his diet completely got rid of his polyps. He would eat Brazilian nuts every week. After having 3 colonoscopies in a row have pre-cancerious polyps, after adding selenium, he didn't have any polyps with his next scope. I have never had Brazilian nuts..but it would be worth a try!

This actually sounds very interesting. Is there a lot of "running" around to do? :D Ok, jokes aside... I would be interested in the details. I need to get out and stretch a little. Just got back from Denver / Estes Park and let me tell you, I definitely need to get in shape. :D

I'm interested. I've run in a few 5Ks, so at least know sort of what to expect. I'm also experienced in event coverage like this.

Alex: 5K shooting has virtually no movement on your part. You pick a nice spot... the closer to the finish line the better (because everyone is spread out at that point)... and then just shoot everyone as they come in.
