In need of an assistant - 09-03-2008, 02:06 PM

We are looking for someone we can count on, for a permanent assistant. We know you will grow and move on, but in the meantime, we could use some help on a regular basis. A new team member.

Job Description: Lighting assist would be the primary responsibility. We would love to find someone who is familiar with various lighting systems (we have three), metering, Canon gear (we will need a runner for lenses), gear protector...toter. We are willing to train if needed, but this will be during the week, and prior to weddings.

The person we are looking for will be highly motivated, willing to learn, and eager to help. And strong because we have a lot of gear.

The type of person we are looking for is: someone who has a passion for photography, and wants to learn all about wedding photography. Although you will start in a "hands off" approach to the actual photography, we are willing to let you shoot. Hopefully, we can bring the right candidate into a "hands on" photography position. We are not looking for a tried and true wedding photographer. We are looking for someone who is a consistant shooter, who is passionate, and who doesn't mind observing and doing basic assist for a while. We are looking for someone who wants to get into the wedding business, but doesn't have the experience. We want to train someone who can adapt to our way of doing business.

This is a paid position, but not a high level of pay. These are long days, hard days, and sometimes frustrating days.

What you will get in return: Experience. Some pay. Photoshop and mentoring help if requested. Use of images if approved.

We are looking for a "scrapper". Someone who can take a long hard day doing grunt work in order to learn. (The way I started). We are looking for a team member. The money will increase as the candidate becomes more valuable to the company. You can become a permanent member of the team here, but as you grow, we understand if you need to fly on your own.

It's taken Mike and I a while to get to the point that we need and want to really trust someone to come into our family business. If you are interested, please respond to my PM.

To see samples of our work (so that you know what you are getting into) please go to www.visionsinwhite.com

I really hope to find the right person. If you think you are that person, please send us a PM.

Thanks in advance.

Cindy,

Have you checked with the colleges? Like CCCD and UTD...

Hi Wil,
I checked with DCC, and no takers.

I know there are people here who say that no one will give them a chance..... I'm just hoping a really good one means it. :-)

Sounds like a great opportunity for the right person. Good luck!

I already work really hard for almost no money, but I still consider myself one of the richest people in the world. :-)

I agree, Todd. This is a really great opportunity for someone, so you guys should really consider it. You will learn a lot, have a great time, and watch a top notch wedding photog at work.
