Here's the deal...
I've been invited to shoot at the " How's about a beer" Dallas Invitational Photo Shoot this coming Saturday. I was going to go it solo, but given the location and the number of models, I think I could use a hand with gear, sets, and lights.
What do you get out of it? That's your choice. There are 25 very attractive ladies that will be posing so there's that and also the opportunity to network with makeup artists and other fairly well known shooters in the DFW area. You might even learn a thing or two by watching and helping me work. Many folks have paid to attend my workshops, and this is like a one-on-one for free
Please let me know if you are interested and available to be in Dallas near Texas Stadium for most of the day on Saturday. Equal opportunity employer (I pay everyone the same $0 ).

Scott... Surprises me that you're shooting this. Those guys never pay a darn thing and are always soliciting free photographers.
Anyway... Have fun! | | | |

It is my passion, my creative outlet, and the way I choose to spend my time and money. This opportunity allows me to extend my art, get exposure, and add to my portfolio.
Why would I not do it?

Makes sense Scott.
It just irks me that certain organizations choose to use people for marketing material and ultimately creating product that puts money in their pocket and not into the ones doing the work. But that is just something that I personally feel. I realize there are plenty out there doing it for fun and creative outlet. I include myself in that category. But I also want to be profitable and not perpetuate the reality that is free professional photography. Anyway...I don't want to derail your thread...I also wish you the best of luck and hope you have a great time.
My son's birthday is Saturday so I actually took it off from shooting. I have a really cool gig with the Dallas Stars on Sunday... (I know how much you love the Stars...LOL....hehe Sharks I mean).
Take care. | | | |

I don't make a penny from my photography, yet it is something I love to do and shoot "free" shoots like this when I get the chance . . . if my "volunteer" work gives them something close to what they would get from paying someone, then we both win - I get interesting things to shoot and they get images to use for their marketing.

Since I know you Scott and understand your motives, I would not hesitate to come and help out. But, I have rehearsal and a wedding that day...
Whomever gets to help out will have a great learning day, and probably get some great photos as well.

Based on the website images, I seriously doubt my lovely wife would buy into this as ongoing professional development...
