I can go on Sunday, but I am working Saturday night
it looks like everyone has to stay behind a certain point does anyone know how far from the ballons you are? it would be good to take the right lens.

We are heading up there Friday afternoon, hopefully in time to see the lightup, leaving on Sunday. I haven't been to one of these yet, looking forward to it. Guess I won't need the telephoto for this!! Staying in the LaQuinta.

later sat for me. Had a nice visitor this morning @ work from a hot air balloon in McKinney. I saw the balloon a few miles away while I was driving north on 75about 8am. I could see him goin up & down. Turns out that he was lookin for a place to set er down...and this happens to be the day I leave my camera at home. Man did he cover some ground fast!

He tried to sit the balloon down on my company's property. Hovered at about 50 feet for about 5 mins over the property, close enough to hear the people in the basket talking, I'm guessing trying to see if it would be okay to land there, and finally chose a small field across the street.

I'm not that good with distance, but I would say the closest you'll get is about half the distance of a football field away from the balloons, maybe a little further.
