Sailboat or Powerboat Needed - 09-27-2008, 05:42 PM

I am looking for a sail or power boat close to Dallas. It would be best if it was docked in a slip. I don't really want to go out on the lake or be a lot of bother. Just near the shore to use as a prop. I have a client that wants to photograph kids on a sailboat or powerboat. I don't have a boat. I need one that is close to Dallas and would only need it for about an hour. Does anyone have a boat that we could use for the shoot?

Tom was the first person I thought of. Unfortunately, Murphy struck again...

I've got a 1937 mahogany speedboat, but she's not currently floating and my garage doesn't provide the best ambient light. :-)

That sounds cool. That is the type of thing we are looking for. Classy sail boat or vintage boat would be perfect. But we can make almost anything work.

There's a vintage wooden boat club based in Lucas (not too far from Plano). Depending on how much work you want to put into getting a classic boat, I can direct you to the club president. They'd probably offer to take you and your subjects out for a ride, or at least borrow one on dry land for photos.

Three years ago I was shipshape. If I still was, you'd certainly be welcome.

I have been hankering to go sailing lately, too. Maybe that'll be a good winter project.
