Need location help. - 10-30-2008, 09:14 PM

I have an engagement session on the 15th. They live in Justin and I am about an hour away from there. Does anyone know of a nice place to take the photos? Maybe in between Mckinney and Justin. I live north of Mckinney. They really don't care where we have it at and they are not country type people so no barns or things that say country. Thank you guys.

I would recommend the Lowry Woods on the Campus of Texas Woman's University. It is just off of Hwy. 380 so it should be easy for both of you. There are several images from there on my website. In the portrait gallery there is a family sitting on the ground from there. In the children gallery there are two children by a pond. And in the wedding gallery the couple by the columns, the outdoor bridal group and the couple in the doorway are all at TWU.

TWU is a pretty location. I've shot a wedding there, don't know if you need permission to shoot portraits.

Technically, yes, but the only time I have ever seen any sort of enforcement is when they are having an event in that area such as a wedding. For a small fee ($25.00 I think) you can call and reserve a specific time to shoot there. They will tell you if there is an event scheduled and if so what areas will be "off limits".

I was there this afternoon and there were at least three other photographers there plus a half dozen wannabees. We steered clear of the Little Chapel area as there was a wedding going on there.
