great shots todd ... based on the lighting i think we might of been of there at the same time. The cubs were playful i just wish the Tiger cubs were out.

Your shots are great. I only got one of the mom with her eyes open (the one posted), and it was taken while my son was tugging on my shirt telling me he was thirsty. I'm thinking we were at the lions between 12:30 and 1 p.m. (when we left). Next time, I'm either going to go by myself or with someone who values photo opps!

Great shot, Jeff!

It was an unintentional TPF non-meetup, I guess. Next time, I'll plan to not have snot-nosed brats with me.

I just went yesterday (Sunday) and caught both the lions and tiger cubs out playing. They were ADORABLE and quite rambunctious. I will post pics as soon as I go through them. The lighting was a problem with my (slow) lens trying to hand-hold, but hopefully I got a few worth keeping, even if they aren't gallery quality.

You should have seen all the 100-400 and 200-400 lenses out there. I swear I saw at least 50 (it looked like a meetup of some sort with how many). You would have thought they gave those things away instead of being $5K a pop...

I wish i owned one of those lens lol. I shoot with a 135mm or a 500 f/8, 500mm is my primmary lens at the zoo and it was 600 bucks. Doesn't always take the best gear to get the good shots but sure does look cool to carry it around lmao.

I look forward to seeing the shots i'm gunna throw some more up one day lmao.

My shots were taken with my 12-year-old 100-300 f/4.5-5.6 because I didn't want to lug anything heavier around all day. Most of the day I used my 17-40 f/4 to shoot pics of the "wildlife" kids I was with.

Ok, a couple of mine. They are all handheld and the lighting was crap, so they are a little soft... I'm going back this weekend with the tripod. LOL

Thanks :)

Oh, by the way, that first one where the mama tiger is looking like she wants to eat something? It was a set of 4 photographers with the big whoppers on the end of their cameras!

Since everyone has been talking about them, my wife and I headed over there this past friday to see them and take a few shots ourselves. They sure are cute. The lion cubs were in a playful mood when we were there but the tigers weren't very active yet. I guess we got there too early.

There's a few more on my blog.

Michael
