Interesting...I used to live just out of frame to the upper left. There are a lot of other buildings in that area that could stand to go as well.

I saw on the news last night. You can watch it from a parking garage close by. However you have to be there by 7am.

Looks like you are right. From KXAS:

Dallas demolition experts will take down a former Holiday Inn Select Sunday morning.

The implosion is set for 8 a.m.

The building is located on the east side of North Central Expressway nearly Royal Lane.

Highway 75 (North Central Expressway) will be closed in both directions shortly before 8am between Meadow Lane and Royal Lane.

The highway will be closed for about 10 minutes during the implosion.

The northbound access road will also be closed.

Spectators can watch the implosion from a parking garage behind the Hotels.com building north of Meadow Road, but you should be there before 7 a.m. to have access to the garage.

Once the site is cleared of debris, construction on a new 83-acre mixed-use development will begin.

The new development will have high-rise condominiums, luxury town homes, senior living and medical office buildings.

The development will be completed by December 2009.

To see the building, click here for a view and map provided by Google.

I think that I might try to make it. I have to work at 9:30, but that should leave me plenty of time. But what lens does one use for an implosion? -G

I'll be there about 6 also. I went by after work this morning and the gates to the garage were closed. Maybe they'll be open tomorrow morning. May have to climb the stairs to the top level. I'll be in a grey Ford f-150, probably wearing a Razorback jacket. See ya there.
