First balloon attempt in 20 years....

My last balloon festival was 20 years ago in Phoenix, so I went to Plano this morning (Sun)

Nice, its wonderful to see the different perspectives each person shoots at an even like this. Did you get to go on the field or were these shot from the sidelines?

I didn't have special access to the field. I shot all the pre dawn and early shots from the roped off area. After most of the balloons had lifted off they opened the field to everyone.
I don't know if this is normal, or a concession because there were not very many balloons present.
I must credit PS for the good sky. I purposefully oversaturated and darkened the sky and colors. Since I don't consider myself a photojournalist, I think it is acceptable to manipulate the image to get the effect I wanted.....what do you think ?

Quite acceptable, in-fact I bumped up the saturation and increased the contract of many of my images also, really makes those colors pop!
