Thumbs up Arlington Camera - 11-29-2008, 11:52 PM

I was there again this afternoon. Everytime I go I'm really impressed with the variety they can get into such a relatively small space and they are always busy! I guess having product in stock and valuable customer service is still paying off. I'm glad we have a business like this in our area.

They are all great I have been going to them for years and they always seem to care more about what you really need rather than making more money off of you.

They pump in the smell of the nearby Dairy Queen so that the new lens you just bought carries the scent of a Hungr Bustr for at least a few days. So sneaky!

It gets a little too cozy in there sometimes. I like the staff and their store, but the place is a little dated, and they probably could move to a larger space. I'm sure there's a good reason they haven't done that yet though. Thankfully, I'm able to walk out empty-handed with my wallet still intact.

It's the fact that they simply have too much inventory and miscellaneous crap that they'd have to account for and move. I hate that shopping center. . . but LOVE they neighboring DQ.

I must be the only person who really does not like AC. Every time I am in there they are either rude or too busy. I shop at FTW Camera. Jeff is much nicer and will make you killer deals, especially if you are a repeat customer.

Wow Chris I have aways gotten the exact oppisite response. Everytime I have been into Fort Worth camera the people have talked down to me. They always acted like they were doing me the favor just acknowledging I had walked in after I stood around and waited for help for 15 minutes. About a year ago I started taking my business to arlington camera and they have always treated me right.

However I am glad someone is getting good service at fortworth camera.

I'm surprised to hear this. I don't think anyone at AC has ever been rude to me. Busy is one thing, but rude? Nope. Rick is a hoot. He cracks me up every time I'm in there.

I have had the rude vibe from Arlington Camera in the past.. but these days, I get greeted by name when I walk in... and its not like I've spent a lot of money there.. just rented a lens a few times.. a bag once.. shopped for lenses, but never bought it there.. I think a flash once.. and recently a softbox from them at the trade show during the SWPPA conference.

I can see where people might feel like they are rude.. especially if you are always there when they are super busy.

I have had both issues at AC. Sometimes I go in there and feel as though I have to do handstands to get anyone to help me. The folks are working (not just shooting the bull with each other), but it's like they are doing inventory. It gets frustrating to have several pass right by you without saying anything. On the other hand, I have had times when they were full of customers, but was greeted and asked if I needed help several times.

There are definately some that I try to get to help me when I'm there, and some that I try to avoid. Overall, I enjoy having them there, and go in there frequently (and I do spend money in there).

Just my 2 cents on the subject.
