We want a 'faux' engagement session... will trade!

Heres why...
My husband and i got married a year and a half ago. We hired two different photographers and both didn't do a very good job photographing our wedding. We didn't get an engagement or bridal session either. We've never had any pro pictures taken of just the two of us.

I know I'm probably not gonna get anyone from here to do this for us, but i thought it was worth a shot.

A year ago, we started our own photography business - doing mainly weddings. We've done SO many engagement session and during each one i sigh to myself... wishing we could've had this with us. We've been SO busy doing the weddings and family sessions, etc and haven't really had much time for ourselves. Also, being self employed, we dont really have much $$. SO...
I'd love to trade sessions with someone. I'd love to photograph whomever for you and give you all of the raw files, plus even edit a few : ) if you'll do the same for us.

I've tried looking for a newb needing to build a portfolio and there just isn't very many out there and the few that i have found haven't responded.
So, if anyone from the Dallas area would like to exchange time PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know! Or if you just want to build your portfolio and wanna practice on us, let me know!

I'm wanting fashion like pictures as well as some intimate ones.

Hey Heather,

Did you ever find someone to help you guys out with this? If not, I may be able to help you out a bit...I think I would probably fall into that "noob" role, and wouldn't mind the practice - and to be honest, my wife & I could use a few "newer" photos too! The only downfall - we're in Keller, (northeast Tarrant Co.).

I just posted a couple engagement photos in the wedding section of the form, oh heck - here's the LINK. Let me know what you think!

Heather...do you have a time frame that you need them by? I'd be interested after the first of the year if you still need someone. I tried to set up a group shoot earlier where everyone could shoot each other for practice, portfolio, learning, etc This would be a good opportunity for something like that for E-Sessions. Just a thought.

First off, your work is amazing!!!
I've had several inquiries but nothing is set in stone. I'd love it if you could do it!! I dont mind coming out in that direction for a free shoot ! And for whomever wants to tag along is perfectly fine w/ me!!

As far as locations... I'll leave it up to you. We can either have you shoot us in Keller and we shoot you and your wife in Dallas or vice versa (sp). We have two weimaraners that I'd love to include in a small part of the session, but if we go out to Keller, theres no way to make that work - which is definitely not the end of the world!!! I'd rather have our pictures taken in a new location than have our dogs in one of the shots :). We always shoot our engagement sessions at Turtle Creek and then Deep Ellum and I'm so tired of Turtle Creek...lol. We are a very modern couple and would like to get some modern/ edgy/ intimate shots. A parking garage, train tracks, a building under construction would be fun, for example :). Do let me know when you are available!! We are very flexible... this is a slow season for us. I would, however, prefer to do them b4 it gets cold and mushy.

I would like to get them done b4 it gets too cold. BUT the more pictures the merry!! I'd definitely be interested in that as well... just keep me posted!
