Just got a call from my wife - the space shuttle Endeavor will be landing piggy-backed on a NASA jet today at 3:15 pm at the NAS in Fort Worth (formally Carswell AFB).

If you get a chance to go, could be a cool thing!

Where exactly is Carswell located? I've never been there.

John , you can't be serious ?

I 30 west to Lockheed blvd north. It's a pretty big place to miss.
Just park where all the other photogs are undoubtedly camped out already.

Thanks. Couldn't make it anyway, especially with the revised ETA.

News showed it coming in from the South. Last time it came through in the early 90's it sat parked on the NE side of the tarmac overnight because it's to big to fit in a hanger. If it takes off south in the morning then anywhere near Ridgemar Mall would be a good pic. However, if it takes off north then Loop 820 at Quebec would be a great shot./jpb

I made it over there. What a hoot

I posted a photo on keith's thread. I think mine is a bit over sharpened.

All indication are that it will leave right after dawn.
If the wind is from the north there is no great place, but if the wind is from the south and you have a humongous flash you could do a TriCoast from Lockheed Blvd looking into the sunrise.

Winds appear to be from the same direction (N/NW) tomorrow; so, it will take off on RWY 35 - same RWY it landed on today. It will take-off in the same direction.

I just heard on the radio that it will be leaving at 11:00AM on Thursday. I think I'll head that way. I'll check the board in the morning to see if there is any news that it took off at dawn.
