Shuttle Endeavor leaves Fort Worth - 12-11-2008, 12:58 PM

Here are a few images from this mornings trip to NAS Fort Worth to see the space shuttle Endeavor atop a NASA B747.
NASA 911 departed NAS approx. 11am on rwy35. It never rotated, but gracefully lifted off the runway at approximately the 9k marker.
Several other interesting aircraft were transitting the field as well.

Outstanding!

The shuttle pictures are nice, but I must admit I got more excited about the Prowler picture.

That must have been interesting to see.

Pretty cool to see the Shuttle in Fort Worth. Thanks for sharing the pics.
Lots of people there.

Seeing all those folks made me wonder..... doesn't anyone have a day job any more ? Why aren't these kids in school ? Would that lady in the red dress and tight blouse like to have lunch at my house ? Is unemployment that rampant ? How many cell phones must there be ? You know, stuff like that.

I went to the north part of loop 820 and saw the shuttle after it was already airborne.

I was at work in Keller when it took off. We stood outside and it came North and then looped around back South right over our parking lot. It was really neat to see. If I would have known it was going to be so close I would have brought my camera in.

There's a lot of really nice shots in both threads, thank yall for posting them. It flew over Houston about 1230. I wish I'd have known it was gonna fly by here, I would have been outside with my camera as it passed by low and slow where I work. I got to shoot it when it lifted off on Nov. 14th. so it would've been nice to get some of it at least on piggy back.

I wonder about things like that too sometimes. I figure most of them must have a better job or source of income than me.

Great work on all the photos folks. I really would of liked to of been out there.
