Looking for 10D's (or older) Canons... - 12-16-2008, 11:49 AM

Our children attend a homeschool coop program on Fridays called "The Cube."

I have taught at "The Cube" for two years, and taught "Introduction to Digital Photography" class for one year.

Next semester (Jan-09) I am teaching a new class: "Advanced Digital Photography."

For this class, we need 15 dSLR cameras + kit lens; preferrably Canon; and preferably 10D's (or older "D" class) that have the dial on the back for functionality rather than Rebel class cameras that have all buttons. However, beggers can't be choosers and any dSLR would be a blessing!

In a perfect world it would be great to have the cameras donated. I can provide a non-profit donation receipt (for fair market value) from the homeschool program or our Church.

Short of donation, I'd like to borrow (and return) the cameras - but I doubt many people will be up for that.

My final option is purchasing. I can pay $100 per camera. I realize that isn't much but purchasing would come out of my own pocket and $1500 (15 cameras) is an enormouse expense for me. (especially considering these cameras will never go up in value...lol)

If you're interested, please, please contact me via PM or email. I'll gladly meet up with you anywhere in the metroplex.

Thank you!

Is there any way students (parents) could buy them? I'm hoping you're able to find what you need, but getting stuck with them later would be a real bummer.

We can only charge $40 for the class, and most of that goes to processing prints through the year and the end of year gallery.

One student has a 20D (I helped her buy it last year.) And I have a 20D for another student to use. (There could be one other student with a XTi, but I haven't seen the final roster yet.)

Have you thought about asking Canon to donate to your cause of teaching photography? Bob Malish is the areas Canon Rep bmalish@cusa.canon.com or 972-409-8887. At the very least he may come to one of your classes and give a demonstration.
