Dawn Patrol - Saturday PBF - 09-19-2005, 11:23 PM

Just thought I would share one of my favorite shots form this past weekend.
This was taken during the Wake Up Plano or Dawn Patrol that started at 6:30am.
The sun was rising and the rays were filtering through the clouds as the balloons were taking off.

Absolutely breath-taking! I don't think I would change a single thing about the photo. Very nice work!

Spectacular and inspiring!

Did you use a polarizer for this shot?

Yes I rented the Canon 17-40L with a Polarizer
My wife insisted I return the lens this morning though

I just love that lens!

When I bought the Canon 70-200mm F4L I wanted to get this also, but it was a little much. I may go back and get it in a couple months.

Makes me sad. We got there early on Sunday and were told they were grounded. So we went home.

Robin
Really nice. You've captured exactly what I was hoping to get on Sunday morning. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and many of the pilots didn't even come to the grounds. I still had a good time and got a few nice images. The 17-40L is my primary lens.

Did you drive up from Pflugerville just for the Balloon Festival?
