Well, I think the advance team for the Thunderbirds just arrived... rattled the windows on my house very nicely :) by the time i got out into my backyard with my camera, I could see two birds (possibly the solos) tearing up and down 35 towards each other.
I sure wish I could get onto the flightline for Fridays practice since I have to work Sat and Sun (Plus I don't think Rita is going to play nice for the show). Anyone have any info about gaining access to the practices friday... willing to pay if i have to. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. If so then you could come near Lockheed and park in Sam's Parking lot and probably get some good photos. I cannot say if they will be practicing here but I know the pilots are here signing posters.

Just got notice that the Thunderbirds will be flying into Lockheed on Thursday. If I get a time I'll update the thread.

conflicting reports here, but what else is new?
The last time I tried to go to the airshow at alliance i was in a line of cars about three miles long. I finally gave up and stopped on a side road in the area to watch some of the bigger planes.
I would be anxious to go out Friday for practice.

I'm not sure if I can make it Thursday, but I certainly would like to be their Friday if they practice.
Anxiously awaiting times...

Well, what I know so far is that they will be flying in early tomorrow...before lunch. They will probably practice both Thursday afternoon and Friday at some point. I will ask my sources and see what I can get. The Thurday practice will probably be short notice.
I'm hoping that they don't actually fly in tonight, but like the magic eight ball says, "My source say no".
Stay tuned.
One added note. Lockheed actually send it's own pilot and F-16 to these things to put on a flight envelope demo. The test pilot normally practices his show over Lockheed as well and ran a practice session today. He maybe out there the next couple days as well so keep you eyes peeled for that too. That little demo is fast, loud, and impressive.

Thanks! | | | |

Thanks! | 820/30 interchange south of Lake Worth. If your on 30 going west take spur 341 and follow the road, you can't miss it. The spur dead ends into Lockheed.

Okay, stuff is coming in fast and furious...not really, but here's what things are looking like. The Thunderbirds will probably not practice their show over Lockheed, if the airspace is clear, they will try to practice over Alliance. So aside from some fly by's don't expect any theatrics over Lockheed. They should be arriving tomorrow sometime between 8 am ish and 10 ish. I wish I had an exact time, but this is as close as I may be able to get.
Tomorrow, I should find out about practice but I'm told that they will only be practicing on Friday afternoon. They will also try to practice about the same time their show is scheduled, so if someone has an air show schedule, what time do the thunderbirds appear?

I happened to catch the Lockheed show today. He had to wait a while while a C130 with one engine out , and another fighter with an electrical problem made emergency landings.
Quite a busy afternoon...
