I was told that there's a sort of "park" at DFW where you can watch planes take off and land. I've been unable to find anything online about such a place.

Does anyone know if such a place exists?

Founders Plaza

To visit Founders Plaza, enter DFW Airport from the south (Hwy 183), exit to the right on Airfield Drive before you reach the entry plazas. Turn right and continue on Airfield Drive past the Administration Building. Turn left on 30th Street (Carbon Rd.) and continue until you reach Founder's Plaza on the right

Just don't refer to your equipment as a bazooka while you're there. :)

I checked the place out today and it's a pretty cool little park. I think it will be even better after a nice rain storm comes through and all this haze gets pushed out.

Here's a few from today. I think next time I'm bringing the 400mm out to play.

This one got me a little concerned as this guy was going top speed with sirens and lights and all right toward me. There is a sign at the front of the park saying it is monitored by police 24 hours a day so I was pretty open about using the camera. Of course he just whipped past me and kept going. Two police cars did tour the parking area but left without stopping:

My wife and I stopped out there Saturday to check it out and the wind was so stong I couldn't hold the camera steady We plan on going back soon. This is one shot I did get but it is not as good as Joe's!

As we pulled up there was a man getting into his truck with a portable radio I thought it may have been Joe

As you can see I got the CS2 Framer script and was testing it out

Wow, not only did you get clouds in yours but you got a plane other than American Airlines. I swear everything that landed or took off with the exception of that FedEx plane was American Airlines. They completely own DFW...

Let me know if you go back out there. I think I'm going to practice with my time-lapse feature next time...

As Joe mentioned, be aware it is monitored 24hrs!
I took this shot while pretending to shoot the incoming planes from behind us.
It is a security camera and I think there were two of them total

Founders Plaza is a great place to shoot. . . . but I kinda get sick of shooting MD-80's over and over and over. . . .but good shot of the British Airways plane
