Anyone know of any nice parks/lakes to have a wedding? - 01-16-2009, 10:25 PM

I'm trying to find some good parks or lakes for my cousin to have his wedding at. Any help would be appreciated. I figured this would be the best place to start. They are looking to get married May 9th or May 23rd. They live in the fort worth area. Thanks in advance

I'll start with the obvious

Fort Worth Botanic Gardens
Chandor Garden / Weatherford
River Legacy Parks / Arlington

The botanic gardens are crazy with pricing. River legacy park is booked. I'll check into Chandor garden. Any more?

You'll need to be more specific about what you are looking for and what the budget is. If FWBG has "crazy pricing" you may be looking for something that isn't possible.

I apologize....I was incorrect about their pricing. I was thinking of something else. It's a relatively small wedding on a small budget, but they want to try and make it as nice as possible. I'm going to email her and ask for specifics regarding how much they can spend. In the meantime, I was just trying to see what I can gather for them.

Lake Grapevine has a number of venues that specialize in lakeside weddings, but they aren't going to be on the cheap side, either. They are very beautiful, but I haven't shot at any of them (I don't mean the Gaylord ... that is crazy pricing defined).

I did a very beautiful wedding a few years back at the Methodist Camp on Lake Bridgeport. The wedding was outside and we moved a few yards up the hill to the reception site.

I got married in Tulsa 10 years ago, I don't speak today's prices. Plus, the exchange rate in Oklahoma was pennies on the Texas dollar back then. I think we got paid to get married there after it was all said and done.

We did have to take a blood test, though.

I have seen weddings down by the small lake by the Las Colinas Canals. Have no idea on pricing but it is a pretty location. You could probably contact Las Colinas for information.
