I'm talking about Dragon Dances and other activities.

Did a quick websearch and found nothing.

Houston people may want to look for something also in their area.

BTW it is going to be the Year of the OX which is supposed to be financially rewarding.
Actually Found a Dragon Dance at the Crow Center for Aisan Art Downtown on Monday the 26th at noon till one.

I believe that they do the dancing in the courtyard of the Museum and the Museum is camera friendly.

My landlady has mentioned something about it. I've asked her to keep me updated, but I probably ought to ask her, again, for more details. She has quite a lot of connections in the community, especially amongst minority groups.

I live in Haltom City just north of downtown Fort Worth, and there is an Asian business district a few miles down the road. They have had celebrations in the past, and I'm keeping an eye out for information for this year. I'll pass along anything I hear about it.

I made the Crow Center lion dance, they had it indoors and there were about 150 DISD kids (4TH + 5TH GRADE Maybe) in attendence along with a handful of other adults and a few preschool children.
More can be seen at http://www.pbase.com/pgkps/lion_dance_2009

I'll be adding some more later today.

They had the Haltom City celebrations last Saturday afternoon in front of the Nguyen Chinese grocery (E. Belknap). The coming Saturday they will have a similar celebration at the Asia World Market, 240 Legacy Drive, Plano, TX 75023. Call them at 972-517-8858 or 8801 to check exact date and time. This was reported in the Dallas Morning News last Tuesday, Jan 20.

February 7th (this coming Saturday I believe), they're doing more performances but not sure where. Saw it in the Chinese newspaper. I gotta go dig it back up and see. Keep this thread posted.
